Marie J. Jalbert

Marie J. Jalbert, 91, of Alfred, passed away on Saturday February 17, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Biddeford on September 10, 1915, a daughter of Narcisse and Mathilda (Lambert) Cantara. She attended St. Joseph School in Biddeford. In 1937 she moved to Sanford and then to Alfred in 1947. She was employed 15 years at the Goodall Sanford textile mills until their closing in 1954. She then worked at the Sanford Dress Shop. She was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church.She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph H. Jalbert who passed away on May 28, 1990. She is also predeceased by her sister, Blanche Mininni.She is survived by one son, Robert Jalbert and his wife, Cheryl of Alfred, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Madeleine) Langley of Alfred, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Marc Cantara of Biddeford.Visiting hours will be on Tuesday February 20 from 9am until 10 :45am at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford.
