Darlene Hutchins
Darlene C. Hutchins, 54, of Springvale, died on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Darlene was born in Bangor on July 25, 1955 to Raymond and Jacquelin Nason Hutchins. She was raised in Sanford and Acton, graduating from Wells High School in 1973. She worked as an inspector at Pratt and Whitney for over 20 years. After leaving Pratt & Whitney she worked for several years driving school busses for Laidlaw Transportation.Darlene was a member of the Northeast Border Collie Association and the New England Stock Dog Club. She raised Border Collies that she would enter in sheep herding and agility competitions. She also raised sheep that she used to practice herding with her dogs. Darlene attended Curtis Lake Christian Church. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, skiing, snorkeling and spending time with her family. She was also a certified EMT and had taken flying lessons at the Sanford Airport. Darlene had an adventurous spirit and was always willing to trying new things. She will be remembered as a kind and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.Darlene was predeceased by a brother, Daryl Hutchins.Surviving are her mother, Jacquelin Hutchins of Acton; two brothers, Ronald Hutchins of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Barry Hutchins and his wife Grace of Acton; three nephews, Aaron, Benjamin and Raymond Hutchins; an uncle, Robert Hutchins of Acton and an aunt, Carol Nason of Watertown, Massachusetts.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22nd at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of one's choice.To leave a message of condolence please click on the condolences tab to the left.
