Rita M. Huard

Rita M. Huard, 89, of Alfred, passed away on Thursday January 8, 2009 at her home in Alfred. She was born in Sanford on April 26, 1919, a daughter of Aaron and Mabel (Lavallee) Deschamps.She attended local Sanford schools and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. For many years she worked in the Sanford Mills and retired in 1975 from Nike Shoe.She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Elk's Emblem Club. An avid beano player she also enjoyed crocheting and doing jig saw puzzles but most of all spending quality time with her friends and her cat "Snoopy". Mrs. Huard is predeceased by her husband, George Huard and one sister, Irene Thyng. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Mrs. Michael (Georgette) Fernald of Sanford and Mrs. Craig (Paula) Brook of Lyman, one grandson, Scott Stitson of New York, several nieces and nephews.At her request there will be no funeral services.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
