Warren S. Houston

Warren S. Houston, 80, of Acton, Maine, passed away on Wednesday September 12, 2007, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born in Sanford on February 24, 1927 he was the son of Clarence and Ethel (Spencer) Houston.He attended local Sanford schools. During his senior year he enlisted in the US Navy serving in Guam during WWII. After the war he continued his education earning his high school diploma. For several years he co-owned and operated a Gulf Station in Sanford. He later worked for himself doing carpentry work, masonry work and trash collecting. He also was a managing partner for the All Star Lanes in Sanford.Warren is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Houston.He is survived by one sister, Jacqueline Parent of Sanford, one nephew, John M. Parent of Sanford, one grand nephew, Michael J. Parent of Sanford, one aunt, Shirley Pope of Kennebunk.Visiting hours will be on Monday September 17th beginning at 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12noon at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
