Armoza 'Maude' Houle, 93, of Alfred and formerly of Biddeford, died November 7 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a brief illness.She was born in St. Prospere, Quebec, Canada on March 2, 1915, the daughter of Nicholas and Alphonsine (Jacques) Morin.She came to this county in 1954, settled in Biddeford, and for 15 years worked as a cook at the former St. Joseph's School. While a resident of Biddeford, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. With her husband Philip A. Houle, she owned and operated the Pearl Motel in Old Orchard Beach for several years. Mr. Houle died in 1997.She came to Alfred to live with her daughter several years ago. While a resident there, she was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Sanford, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and volunteered in the St. Thomas School kitchen in Sanford. Survivors include her daughter Josette Knox and her husband Jim of Alfred, a grandson, Marc Tardif and his wife Peggy of Limington, and several nieces and nephews in Canada.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 :00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Another Chance Animal Rescue, P.
