Pong K. Homeratsmy

Pong K. Homeratsmy, 56, of Sanford, died at his home on February 14, 2014 at a period of declining health.Pong was born in Pakse, Laos on February 2, 1958. He came to the United States in the 1980's and lived in several places throughout the country before eventually settling in Sanford in 1988.Pong was employed as a machine operator at several scrap yards during his working life. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and could often be seen biking throughout the town. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time at home with his family. He was also an animal lover and was particularly fond of his dog Tigger.Pong is survived by five children, Sandy Homeratsmy of Hilo, Hawaii, Julie Homeratsmy and her companion James Phengdara of Sanford, Tommy Homeratsmy of Sanford, Kim Sayaseng of Sanford and Kammi Sayaseng of Sanford and seven grandchildren, Kaliya, Ethan, Kevin, Destiny, Katalina, Jordan and Aliyah.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday, February 17th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
