Robert S. Hilton

Robert S. Hilton, 81, of Berwick, died at his home on August 27, 2016.Robert born on January 7, 1935 to Burpee and Elizabeth (Young) Hilton in South Berwick where he grew up and attended local schools.Robert was employed for many years by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation working on the turnpike. He was an animal lover and was particularly fond of his two dogs, King and Reese, his two cats and his rabbits. He had also enjoyed raising horses over the years. He loved antique John Deere Tractors and attending tractor and horse shows at the fairs. He also liked cutting and bailing hay in the summer time. Robert was a fun loving person and enjoyed joking around with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a hard working man with a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed.Robert was predeceased by his wife, Jane Hilton.Surviving are three children, Mark J. Hilton of New Hampshire, Paula Delaurier of Farmington, New Hampshire and Loretta Holland of Kemp, Texas; his daughter-in-law, Ursula Hilton of Berwick; his former spouse, Colleen Hodges and her husband Jeffrey of Berwick; four grandchildren Angela and Matthew Delaurier, Michelle Starr and Miranda Holland; three great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 1st at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 2nd 10:00 AM.
