Sandra K. Hewell

Sandra Kay (Lord) Hewell, 70, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford following a brief illness."Sandy" as she was known by her friends, was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 27, 1942 to Maynard E. and Doris H. (Stewart) Lord. She graduated from Sanford High School with the class of 1959.Sandy recently moved back to Maine from Cocoa, Florida to be closer to her three daughters. While living in Florida, she was employed as a cashier for Winn Dixie. She loved her adopted cat "Trinkit," was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr. fan. She also loved watching game shows, soap operas and doing challenging Dell crossword puzzles. Sandy deeply loved her three girls and was a strong woman, even in her last days. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.Sandy was predeceased by her first great grandchild, Daelynn Cote who she now has her arms wrapped around in Heaven.Surviving are three loving daughters, Dori L. Cote and her husband Michael of Sanford, Michelle S. Gauthier and her husband Norman of Springvale and Melissa A. Palmer and her husband Timothy of Springvale; her grandchildren, Jennifer Gillette and her husband John, Dustin Cote, John Pinette, Alison Gauthier and Kyle Watson, all of the Sanford/Springvale area; great-grandchildren, Johnny Gillette and Kinleigh Pinette and two brothers, Frank Lord and Lloyd Cook, both of Florida.Services for Mrs. Hewell will be private.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, P.O.
