Timothy W. Adams, 77, of Alfred, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Sanford. He was born on November 1, 1937 in Portland, a son of the late, Rexford and Ruth (Weymouth) Adams. In 1956 he graduated from Porter High School.Following graduation he was employed at General Electric in Limerick for one year. He then enrolled at the University of Maine Portland/Gorham. In 1959 he married Virginia Roy and they moved to Orono where he transferred to the University of Maine Orono where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Master's Degree's in Education and Administration.Tim started his teaching career in Orrington and moved to Tewksbury, MA. He returned to Kezar Falls and taught at the Limerick High School. In 1969 he started at Massabesic High School as a Guidance Counselor and in 1974 transferred to the Massabesic Middle School retiring in 2005.Known as Mr. Adams to the many students that he came in contact with through the years he was respected and remembered fondly. When speaking with Tim you could always expect his full attention. He always took the time to make whomever he was speaking with feel like they mattered to him the most.Being surrounded by his loving family was his favorite pastime was well as welcoming any friends or relatives who might arrive with them for breakfasts and any holiday. He was especially looking forward to the birth of a new great grandson in February of 2016.He really had a way of making people feel loved whether you knew him as Mr. Adams, or Grampy or Dad. His loving kindness will be remembered by everyone who knew him. He had a positive effect on every person he came in contact with.A communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish he was a Eucharistic Minister as well as a Lector. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Council where he served as Financial Secretary.Tim is predeceased by his parents as well as an infant daughter, Bethany Marie Adams, one sister, Drucilla Dennett.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ginny R. Adams of Alfred, children, Timothy W. Adams II and his significant other, Christine Charette of Parsonsfield, Victoria L. Adams of Alfred, grandchildren, Sarah A. Rulman and her husband, Chris, Jason M. Adams, Joshua E. Adams and his significant other, Kayla Stewart, Jacob R. Adams and his wife, Angelique, two sisters, Maryann Oliver, Patricia Williams, two brothers in law, Raymond B. Roy and Donald R. Roy and his wife, Arlene, two sisters in law, Jane Roy and Eileen Roy. A special family friend, Shelly Gobeille. He is also survived by two cousins, Fred Eames and Richard Eames.Visiting hours for Tim will take place on Monday from 5 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
