Keith A. Harris

Keith A. Harris, 80, of North Waterboro, died on July 14, 2016, at his home after a long illness.He was born on July 15, 1935 in Bath, Maine where he grew up and attended local schools. After he graduated high school, he enlisted in the Navy to serve during the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Wasp.Throughout his life, he spent time living in Bath, then Oregon, and back to Maine, where he retired from Bath Iron Works. For a time, he was actively involved in the Lakeside Community Church in Waterboro, and especially enjoyed helping during the construction of the new building. Some of the things he liked to do, were four wheeling and proudly maintaining his property so that it always looked nice. Keith was very thoughtful and loving, and was very concerned about the well being of his family. He was also an animal lover. He enjoyed his cats and dogs very much. He is predeceased by his parents, a son Kenneth Harris, and brothers and sisters.Survivors include his wife Nancy, a daughter Annette Flood of North Carolina, a daughter Jennifer Harris of Gardiner, a daughter Cynthia Harris, of Gardiner, daughter Michelle Harris and her partner Gary Welch, of Rutland, VT, daughter, Valerie Putnam of Brooks, Maine, a granddaughter Karen Sapps and her husband Issac, of Oregon, Grandson Kenneth Harris Jr., of Oregon, grandsons Thomas Harris and Phillip Harris, of Rutland, VT, and a great Grandson Kaiden of Oregon.A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. with an hour of visitation prior to the service. A burial will be immediately following at the Southern Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
