Richard J. Hamel

Richard J. Hamel, 79, of Sanford died on August 3, 2015 at home after a lengthy illness. A loving father and husband, he will be dearly missed. He worked for many years at Vishay Sprague in Sanford.Richard was a communicant of the St. Therse of Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church in Sanford. Surviors include his wife of 50 years, Marie Ann (Gauvreau) Hamel, daughters Doris Lynch and her husband of Norway, Michelle O'Kane of Naples, son Patrick R. Hamel of Alfred, grandchildren, Grace and Gage, Julia and Danny, Marie, Frankie, and John, great-grandson Trayton, two sisters, Julia Carpentier and Rose Carpentier. Also, many loved ones.Richard is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Olivia (Fillion) Hamel, and two siblings, George Hamel and Patrick Hamel.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church in Sanford, immediately followed by a burial at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.
