Janice K. Guertin, 63, of Sanford, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 7, 2018 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Boston, MA, on May 8, 1954 a daughter of the late George and Helen (Foshey) Hardy.In 1981 she moved to Sanford. It was during this time that she met Fran Yeaton and they became friends. Another close friend was Crystal Phinney who she met when they were working at Sanford Health Care. Over the years Janice made many countless friends. Janice had a gift of laughter and considered those around her family. The Village was her family.When her children were growing up she was active, supportive thru coaching and involved in their sporting activities. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She loved knitting, crocheting and quilting. Every member in her family has a quilt made from her. She was a member of the Wolves Club and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.She is predeceased by her siblings, George Hardy who passed at a young age, George Hardy who was named after his younger brother, Marie Vaughn, Charlie Hardy.She is survived by her husband, Thomas Guertin of Springvale, children, Terry DeGiacomo and his wife, Angela of Alfred, Helen DeGiacomo of Springvale, Susan Tarulli and her husband Andrew of Mountainside, NJ, Janice Frith and her husband, Adam of Springvale, grandchildren, Logan DeGiacomo, Alexandria Hardy, Haley Allen, Madeline Tarulli, two great grandchildren, Hunter and Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Dennis of Sanford, Terry Hardy of Shapleigh, Elizabeth Hardy of Shapleigh, Janice Hardy of Acton, Dorothy Hardy of Sanford and Marilyn Black of Sanford.Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 10th from 4 to 7PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10AM at the Curtis Lake Christian Church.
