Alice T. Guay
Alice T. Guay, 86, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Alice was born on June 17, 1932, to Henri' and Anna (Cartier) Provencher in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools. She grew up in a large family with 13 children. During her working life she held several manufacturing jobs and also also owned and operated a service station for many years with her husband Edmond. After retiring and selling their service station, Alice and Edmond were able to travel in their RV to many different places all over the country. They enjoyed taking many fishing trips and getting to see and visit many different places. When she wasn't out traveling the country, Alice enjoyed making greeting cards and photo albums on her computer, knitting and crocheting. She was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Alice was predeceased by her first husband, Lionel Belanger, her parents and by 11 siblings.Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Edmond G. Guay, Sr.; five children, Elaine Seaver and her husband Tom of Florida, Paul Guay and his wife Melody of Springvale, Eddie Guay and his wife Kelly of Sanford, Peter Belanger and his wife Celeste of Acton and Lorraine Belanger of Greene, Maine; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother, George Provencher of Florida and many nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 18th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
