Marc D. Gosselin, 52, of Sanford, died March 15 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness.He was born in Sanford on March 12, 1954, a son of Roger R. and Yvette V. (DeHetre) Gosselin. He attended the former Holy Family School, was a 1972 graduate of Sanford High School and a 1986 graduate of the University of Southern Maine. In his younger years, he worked in the family business, Roger's Supa Dolla on Cottage Street. He was employed with Pratt-Whitney Aircraft Group in North Berwick from 1979 until the time of his death.He had been a communicant of Holy Family Church.He was a member of the Wolves Club and member and past president of the Lafayette Social Club.Marc was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed both ice fishing and open water fishing, and always looked forward to the annual deer hunting trip in Jackman. On all these excursions he was known to enjoy and partake in camp food. A motorcycle enthusiast, he was fond of bragging to his friends about how he won a Harley-Davidson bike in a raffle only a month after he purchased one. It used to trouble him which bike to ride on a given day.Some special things in his life were his beloved bulldog Hank, the family camp on Square Pond, the Red Sox winning the World Series, the Pittsburgh Steelers winning the Super Bowl, the Rolling Stones, U2 and playing golf. His family recalled that he was the favorite grandson of his Pepere Henry DeHetre, and that he was especially proud of his son Eric and took great interest in his career in the entertainment industry.Survivors include his son Eric M. Gosselin of Los Angeles, CA, 2 brothers, Robert R. Gosselin, his wife Helen and her son Arthur Martineau of Acton, Neil H. Gosselin and his partner Paul Taylor of Wilmington, NC, and a sister, Celeste R. Gosselin and her partner Jewel McHale of Gray.Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 AM with the Rev. Jim McAtee officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Arrangements are through the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, Sanford.
