Nancy L. Gallant

Nancy L. Gallant, 69, of Springvale, died May 28 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a lengthy illness.She was born in Sanford on November 23, 1943, the daughter of Franklyn and Mildred (Brochu) Barrows, attended Sanford schools and was a 1962 graduate of Sanford High School.She was employed over the years with Hersom Lumber, Central Maine Power and with Rudolph Johnson, DDS retiring several years ago.A remarkable wife, mother and grandmother, family was most important to Nancy. She enjoyed many activities around her home including sewing, knitting, reading, ceramics and cooking. She especially loved tending to her flower gardens and her family noted that there was always some sort of craft work in various stages of completion around the house.She was predeceased by her brother, Bob Barrows.Survivors include her husband of over 41 years, Robert T. Gallant, Jr. of Springvale, son Jeff Gallant and his wife Pam of Poland, daughter Diane Hilton of Sanford, sister Ann Hersom of Acton, and grandchildren Adam Gallant of Texas, Callie Gallant of Poland, Brent Hilton, Ashlin Hilton and Jacob Hilton, all of Sanford.It was her request that services be held privately, with burial to be in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.Condolences can be expressed at the Condolences tab at left.
