Donald E. Frechette
Donald E. Frechette, 70, of Sanford, died on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Donald was born in Sanford on November 10, 1942 to Ernest and Jeanne (Jalbert) Frechette where he grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1961. In 1962 he married Joyce Libby and together they shared 51 years and raised two daughters. During and after high school he was employed at Pioneer Plastics where he stayed for several years. He went on to work several other jobs including as a real estate broker, for Simplex Wire and Cable in Newington, New Hampshire, for the Sanford Fire Department where he was elected as one of the first fire commissioners in the department and finally for Cyro where he worked until he retired in 2000.Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards and was member of the Wolves Club in Sanford. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was particularly fond of spending time with his grandchildren. Donald will be remembered as an outgoing and social man with many friends and an excellent sense of humor and will be dearly missed. Donald was predeceased by two siblings, Richard and Blanche Frechette.Surviving are his wife, Joyce Frechette of Sanford; two daughters, Sheri Frechette of Sanford and Wendy Lord and her husband Jeffrey of Sanford; two grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Lord, both of Sanford; a brother, Robert Frechette, Sr. and his wife Mary Jane of North Berwick, a sister-in-law, Margaret Frechette of Sanford and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
