Dorothy "Dot" Francoeur, 66, of Lyman died at her home on Monday, September 17, 2007.Dot was born in Biddeford on September 23, 1940 to Leo and Rita Lebel Lavoie. She worked as a C.N.A. and in her retirement had been working part-time for Home Instead Elder Care Services. Family was very important to Dot. She loved attending family reunions and gatherings. She was a very kind and loving mother who always made sure that her family was well cared and provided for. She was a very frugal person and loved shopping at the Salvation Army and the St. Joseph's Church fair. She was also the "Queen of Yard Sales," always stopping to see if she could find a deal. She liked collecting antiques and was able to assemble a large collection over the years. Dot was very thoughtful and was always looking for things for her family and friends when she was out bargain hunting.Mrs. Francoeur always took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed wearing fashionable clothing and jewelry. She enjoyed flower gardening and reading. She was a very outgoing woman and loved to go out dancing with her companion Phil. Dot will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are a son, Marc Lambert of Portland; three daughters, Louise Cosgrove of Lyman, Rose Shields of Wells and Christine Plante of Lyman; nine grandchildren, Maegan Lambert, Adam Lambert, Nicole Therrien, Jeri Souliere, Trey Gagne, Tison Gagne, Eric Shields, Luke Shields and Tamika Sylvestre; two great-grandchildren, Scott and Trey Pelletier; seven siblings, Nancy, Helen, Velma, Richard, Harold, Nelson, and Russell; five foster siblings from the Cote family, Carol, Bernie, Theresa, Peter and Joey and her companion, Phillippe Berube.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 20th at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Private interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to St. Joseph's Church, 41 Sullivan Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
