Eleanor C. Fowler

ShapleighEleanor C. Fowler, 75, of Shapleigh, ME died Sunday morning March 3, 2002 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, ME.Mrs. Fowler was born on June 22, 1926 in New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Clarice Haddock Poulton. She attended schools there and was a graduate of East Haven High School. For many years she worked as a radiology technician at the Grace Hospital in New Haven, CT. At the age of 50 Mrs. Fowler decided to go back to school. She attended Middlesex Community College and graduated with her associates degree in psychology. She and her husband moved from Connecticut to Wells, Me in 1979 and finally settled in Shapleigh in 1986.Mrs. Fowler enjoyed volunteering at the H.D. Goodall Hospital and was involved in many marriage encounter groups.Surviving is her husband of 55 years Charles F. Fowler of Shapleigh; three sons, Charles R. of East Haven, CT, James E. and Carl F. both of Shapleigh; two daughters, Charlotte Brownlow of Moosup, CT, and Ellen Susan Sullivan of Branford, CT. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be conducted in the spring of 2002.Arrangements completed by the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME
