Lewis Edwin Fink Jr, passed away at his home in Sanford on February 20, 2020. He was born on December 26, 1933 in Schenectady, N.Y. son of Lewis Edwin Fink Sr. and Margaret Hoops Fink-died at home with his wife Kathleen Shultis Fink at his side. He was cared for by Wentworth Douglas Hospice Care.In 1951, Lewis graduated from Nott Terrace High School, Schenectady at age 17. He worked at Dennison's Country Store in Niskayuna (Rt. 7) until he was 18. Then, he began his career at General Electric (Malta N.Y. Test Station). He entered the United States Air Force where he served 4 years in Korea, and stateside. His rank was Staff Sergeant as an aircraft mechanic on light bombers. He served under several generals and received The National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Air Crew Member Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon discharge from the service he returned to General Electric in 1957. He worked in the addressography bureau and then in treasury operations (payroll) until the end of 1958 and then entered the General Electric apprentice course (Tool and Die Maker Journeymen's course) graduating in 1962. As a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, he worked in Schenectady N.Y., Brockport, N.Y. (Appliance Division), and finally at the G.E. Meter and Transformer Business in Somersworth, N.H. He worked for a total of 43 years at General Electric retiring in 1994 (he also worked at Sanford Stampings during his tenure at Somersworth). After Retiring, he worked for Saco Defense (working on Weatherby Rifles), Watts Fluid Drive in Greenland N.H. and Sprague Electric in Sanford.Post-retirement, he and Kathleen enjoyed 3 cross-country automobile trips, seeing the country and visiting family members. He was a member of the American Numismatic Association and the American Legion Post 19 in Sanford.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen, daughters Patricia Ann Angers and husband Steve of Alfred, Melinda Mary Tyler and husband Gaines of Preston, CT, Lewis Edwin III and wife Maryann of Sanford, William David and wife Peralie of Bangor. Also survived by 14 grandchildren (Harry, Sarah, Margaret, Will, Lyndsay, Jonathan,Sophie, Austin, Tyler, Carolyn, Katelyn, Rachel, Lauren and Lewis IV). He also is survived by 7 great-grandchildren, his sister, Carol Kirk and husband Fred, brother David Fink, cousin Gretchen Boardman and husband Dale and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Joyce Tabris and sister-in-law Linda (Shultis) Ralbovsky.Many thanks to Pastor Mike Lauziere and church family of First Baptist Church of Springvale, Dr. David O.
