David L. Dwyer
David L. Dwyer, 62, of Chester, New Hampshire, died on July 19, 2009 in Dover at the Hyder Hospice House following a lengthy illness.David was born in Sanford, Maine on June 2, 1947 to Peter and Roseanna Belanger Dwyer and attended local schools graduating from Sanford High School in 1965. Following high school David enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving four years. In 1969, following his enlistment, David moved to Chester, NH where he would reside for the next 39 years. After moving to Chester he went to work for MFE Corporation in Massachusetts. In 1979, MFE Corporation sent him to Scotland to help set up a new factory to manufacture and repair floppy disks in Europe. After setting up the new factory David went to work for Allen Datagraph Systems, Inc. as a production manager and production engineer. He worked there until 2007, when he had to resign due to declining health. David continued his education throughout his working life. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Lowell Technical Institute and completed Electronics Technician Class "A" School in Great Lakes, IL. He also received his training certificate in Competitive Design of Sheet Metal Parts at the Institute of Competitive Mechanical Design in Chicago Illinois. David was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, boating, skiing, ice-skating and four wheeling. He was also an avid woodworker. David will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.David was predeceased by his sister Deanna Cloutier.Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Sandra Whittaker Dwyer of Chester, New Hampshire; a son, Chad T. Dwyer and his wife Christine of Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren, Stephanie Courtney and Allison of Wisconsin; three step children, Diana Knight of Alfred; Deborah Pelletier of Skowhegan and Douglas J. Elwell of Shapleigh; seven step grandchildren, Jason Knight, Jessica Knight, Rebecca Knight, Stephanie LeClair, Katie Jordan, Bethany Jordan and William D. Elwell; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 23rd at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hyder Family Hospice House, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, New Hampshire, 03833.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
