Robert Dwyer

SANFORD Robert T. Dwyer 82 of Sanford died Monday at the Newton Center following a lengthly illness. He was born in Waterford, NY Dec. 31, 1924 a son of Daniel P. & Isabelle (Rousette) Dwyer .He was educated in New York and was a graduate of St. John's High school. He also attended Siena College in Albany, NY and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He also served in the Army Air Force during WW II. Robert was a devoted employee and a safety manager of General Electric Co for 36 years retiring in 1986.He was involved with the Apollo Moon Landing in 1969.He has been residing in Sanford for the past five years coming here from Old Orchard Beach. He also previously lived in Illinois, New York, Texas and Washington State. He was a member of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at Notre Dame Church in Springvale, and a member of the Elks. He enjoyed model trains and traveling.Survivors include his wife of 57 years MariLee (Moulen) Dwyer of Sanford, fours sons, Michael Dwyer and his wife Tracie of Yakima, WA, Daniel Dwyer and his wife Tamisu of Spokane, WA, Robert Dwyer and his wife Susan of Roscoe, IL, and Erin Dwyer and his wife Joanne of Plainfield, IL. Four daughters, Diana Syzek and her husband Michael of Fort Collins CO, Susan Cooper and her husband James of Tacoma, WA, Michelle McNichols of Carol Stream, IL, and Deborah Klehr and her husband Michael of Huntley, IL. Two brothers, John Dwyer and his wife Joan and Daniel Dwyer and his wife Kathellen both of Renssalaer, NY, along with eighteen grandchildren and a great grandson.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 :30 AM Friday at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.Arrangements by the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the condolences tab to the left.
