Jeannette Dumont

Jeannette R. Dumont, 89, of Sanford, died August 3 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH after a long illness.She was born in Sanford on February 17, 1922, the daughter of Hector and Olivine (Mathieu) Huard and attended Notre Dame School.Mrs. Dumont was employed with several companies in the area over the years, including Jagger Brothers and Sprague Electric from where she retired many years ago.She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church for most of her life.A very social and outgoing person, her home was always open to relatives and friends, and often times included a meal, especially at the holidays. She also gave care and comfort to many of her family members during illnesses.Her husband of 66 years, Omer L. Dumont died in 2009. She was also predeceased by a son James Dumont in 1986.Survivors include her daughter Christine Huppe and her husband Roger of Alfred, Thomas P. Dumont and his wife Janet of Sanford, with whom she resided, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford.
