Germain L. Dumont
Germain was born in Sanford on April 19, 1926 to Cyrus and Alberta Labonte Dumont and attended Holy Family School. He served his country in the United States Navy during WW II.For many years Germain was employed by the shoes shops in Sanford. He was a livelong communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Germain enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his vegetables gardens. During the winter months he enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed several trips to Florida with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Yvette (Caron) Dumont of Sanford; his son Michael and his wife Lorette of Sanford, a brother Lionel Dumont of North Berwick; a sister Gabrielle LaRoche of Springfield, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Germain's sister Adrienne Rouillard predeceased him.The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion during Germain's illness.Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 13th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, North Avenue, Sanford.
