Jeannette A. Dube
Jeannette A. Dube, 89, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the Newton Center on Thursday, July 23.She was born in Sanford on December 23, 1930, the daughter of Lucien and Alice (Lavoie) Perreault; she graduated from St. Ignatius High school in 1949.Jeannette held various jobs throughout her lifetime as a lunch lady, cook, chamber maid, receptionist, cashier and Girl Scout leader, but her greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and a woman of very strong faith. She was a Member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the Red Hat Society and the music coordinator of the Tuesday Morning Prayer group. Playing her guitar, piano and singing were the most integral parts of her life; it brought her so much joy. She would play guitar and sing for her prayer group every Tuesday and Friday, she also played for the prison ministry and various nursing homes. She spent hours preparing until she had it just right. Jeannette loved her little blue car and driving to the beach, eating out and spending time with family and friends. There was never an occasion where she didn't have her camera out and a few days later there would be an album of photos to share.Jeannette was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Lawrence J. Dube who passed in 1996, her parents and her siblings.Surviving are her five children, Roland Dube and his wife Emily of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joanne Guimond and her husband Toby of East Waterboro, John Dube and his wife Debbie of Kennebunk, Pauline Jacques and her husband Michael of East Kingston, NH and Irene Dube of Springvale as well as 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00, July 31st, at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial will follow at the St. Ignatius cemetery.
