Marjorie E. Douglass, 87, of Sanford, a longtime resident of Scarborough and Fairfield Center, died June 29 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a short illness.She was born in Sanford on March 22, 1921, the daugher of Harry and Grace (Reed) Pullen.While a resident of Fairfield, she and her husband were members of the First Congregational Church on Eustis Parkway, and she was a member of the Merrymeeting Chapter of the Order of Easter Star. She was an active volunteer at the Mid-Maine Medical Center in Waterville for several years. When she lived in Scarborough, she was active in the Blue Point Congregational Church. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the former Minnewanca Chapter, OES in Old Orchard Beach and served at the state level as District Deputy. She was also a Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls.Marjorie loved music, books and dancing.Her husband of 53 years, Asa M. Douglass, Jr., died in 1994.Survivors include her son Rod Douglass of Canaan, daughter Holly Mitchell and her husband Reggie of Hollis, 3 grandsons, Terry Douglass of Canaan, Scott Douglass, his wife Jen and their daughter Calla of New York, Andrew Douglass, his wife Karen and their children Keston and Keegan of Mass., 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Brady and her husband Ryan of Wisconsin, Jennifer Beadnell and her husband Jamie of Portsmouth, NH, and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, with the Rev. Diane Wendorf officiating. Burial will follow in Scarborough Memorial Cemetery in Scarborough.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the H. D.
