Mark Dionne
Mark Dionne, of Sanford passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2013. Mark was the loving son of the late Dr. William and Virginia Dionne as well as a dear brother to the late E. Michael Dionne whom we lost only in July.Mark was born on October 6, 1952, Mark was raised in Sanford before graduating from Sanford High and later the University of North Carolina. He was a high school English teacher in Greensboro, N.C., before he chose to serve our country as an Army MP Grade Specialist E-4 before returning home to Maine. He was a loyal and hardworking man with over 20 years of service for Spencer Press and later RR Donnelly as Head of Environmental Safety Manager and serving on the Board of Directors for the State of Maine Workers Compensation Commission under Governor Angus King as well as the local Chamber of Commerce.A great and kind man, he was the most wonderful father and friend with the strength to hold a family together in the roughest of times as well as lighting up our world with his gentle wise words, warm smile and laughter. He loved sports and the outdoors and was extremely bright, talented, witty, humorous and fun loving. He possessed a quick and active mind and was extremely loyal, loving and supportive to family and friends.Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Pamela; his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Daniel Beers; Brandy Rhorer of North Carolina; his two brothers, William E. Dionne Jr. and wife Diana of Colorado and James R. Dionne and wife Kimberly of Maine, two sisters, Patrice M. Hamden of North Carolina and Mariellen Dionne of Colorado; and granddaughters, Emma Leigh Karinanne Beers, Sabrina Richards and Alyssa Bolstridge. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
