Danny P. Dion

Danny P. Dion, 65, of Palm Bay, Florida, formerly of North Berwick, died at the Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay Florida on February 9, 2013.Danny was born in Sanford on February 18, 1947 to Lionel and Laurette (L'Abbe) Dion. He grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Stoughton High School. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam Era. Danny was employed as a nuclear pipe fitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 35 years before retiring in 2011. After his retirement he relocated to Florida. Danny enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and spending time outdoors. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and had also served as the volunteer coordinator for the City of Palm Bay, Florida. Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.Surviving are his wife, Betty Dion of Palm Bay, Florida; two daughters, Lisa Plourde and her husband John of Wells and Danielle Healey and her husband Derek of Berwick; four grandchildren, Katie, Lindsay, Autumn and Carter; four siblings, Sharon Safferstone, Melody Hagg, Patricia Morse and Thomas B. Fahey, III and three step-children, Sabrina, Brandi and Nicole.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
