Robert J. Dick

Robert J. Dick Sr., 63, of Sanford, Maine and formerly of Somerville, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday August 30, 2007 at the Greenwood Center Nursing Home in Sanford.. He was born in Quincy, MA, on November 1, 1943 a son of James F. and Elizabeth H. (Macy) Dick. Robert attended Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts. He received his B.A. from MIT and his P.H.D from Cornell University. On May 22, 1976 he married Barbara Cornelius in Ithaca, New York. For many years Robert was employed as a software engineer for private companies doing defense work designing communication systems for the military.He is predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth Dick, stepmother, Eleanor Dick, two sisters, Marilyn and Carolyn.He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara G. Dick of Sanford, one son, Robert J. Dick Jr., of Bound Brook, New Jersey and one sister, Karen Fishman of Danville, California.An hour of visitation will be held for Robert from 10am until the begining of the service at 11am on Monday September 3rd at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford.
