Vernon A. Deprey, 65, of Springvale, passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on March 8, 2019. He was surrounded by his wife, daughters, sons in law and grandchildren. He was born on March 18, 1953 in Fort Kent, Maine a son of Ammy and Albertine (Marin) Deprey.On May 24, 1974 he married the love of his life, Francine Ouellette. They had three loving daughters, Jennifer, Kelly and Stacie. He was a generous and hardworking man. He did everything for his family. Family was his top priority all the way to the end.He loved watching the Patriots win six superbowls. He loved his cars, but his pride and joy was the Corvette that he waited 63 years to buy. In their 44 years of marriage Vern and Fran travelled the world. Their favorite vacations were those they did in their convertible. Vern loved his grandchildren more than himself. He had "Papadays" with each one. They are treasured memories for them. He never missed an event or ceremony that they were a part of. His smile was the biggest when he could hold his babies. He fought cancer valiantly for three years and never stopped smiling. He always said that some had it worst than him. He was smiling to the very last day.He is predeceased by both his parents. He leaves behind his wife, Francine, his daughters, Jennifer Russell and her husband, David of Readfield, and their children, Ashley, Bradley and Lillian, Kelly Desrochers and her husband, Brian of Shapleigh, their children, Sarah and her boyfriend, Matthew Binette, Cameron and Justin, daughter, Stacie Haraczka and her husband, Alexander of Berwick and their children, Robert and Abigail, his brothers, Leland, Ivan, Alden, Ruben, Galen and Kevin, his sister, Karen and many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 15th from 4 to 7PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfunerealhomes.com
