Dolores E. Demers

SANFORD Dolores E. Demers, in her 91st year, a life long resident of Sanford, died early Monday morning at H.D. Goodall hospital following a short illness. She was born here on May 21, 1917 a daughter of Donat & Dorilda (Gosselin) Demers. She attended the former Holy Family & Notre Dame schools, and was a graduate of Sanford High School. Mrs. Demers was employed as a secretary for the superintendent of schools in Sanford for many years. She was a long time communicnat of St.Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, and avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a Red Sox fan.Her husband Paul L. Demers died in 2005.Survivors are her daughter Anne D. Demers of Sanford, two sons Raymond P. Demers and his wife Elizabeth of Summerfield, FL, David P. Demers and his wife Paula of Springvale, her brother, Edward Demers of E. Meadow, NY and her sister Lucille Duffy of Old Bethpage, NY. Six granddaughters, and a great grandson.Visiting hours will be (today) Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 :00 PM Wednesday in St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
