Robert J. DeCormier

Robert J. DeCormier, 61, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.He was born in Sanford on April 1, 1951 to Blanch and William DeCormier. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1969. Upon graduating he worked as a fork truck driver at a local wire company and later as a welder for Hussey Seating Company. He also painted communication towers in his spare time. He enjoyed 4-wheeling at his property in Eustis until he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1995. After surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center he recuperated at River Ridge in Kennebunk and later at Lakeview Neuro-Rehab in Effingham Falls, NH where he resided for many years. He was well liked by many residents and staff who will conduct a memorial service at the Lakeview facility on Friday May 4, 2012 at 10 AM. Memorial Masses will also be celebrated for Robert at St Catherine's in Norway at 7:30 AM on May 17, 2012 (Ascension Day) and at Holy Family at 6:30 PM on May 17, 2012. Robert is survived by his brother William of Poland, Maine. A graveside service and interment is planned at St. Ignatius Cemetery on Thursday at 10:00 AM.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
