Virginia B. (Ginny) Daland passed away on August 2, 2014 after a short illness. Ginny was born on October 2, 1918 to Forrest Earle and Rhoda (Travers) Bowser, the eldest of 4 daughters. Ginny graduated from Brookline (MA) High School and immediately began working. She had several notable jobs, working for Mass Mutual Insurance Company before going to work for Zildjian Cymbal Company. She worked for the Zildjians for 16 years. In 1981 she went to work for the Sabian Cymbal Company as Export Manager and Executive Secretary to Robert Zildjian, also for 16 years before retiring in 1997.Ginny married Roger Allerton Daland on September 27, 1958 and was just 23 days from their 50th anniversary when Roger passed away. They loved the ocean and power boating, owning several boats during their boating days. All of their boats were named "ROVIR" a combination of their first names.Ginny and Roger lived in Wollaston, MA, until 1984 when they bought a condo in Centerville, MA on Cape Cod. Ginny continued to reside there after Roger's passing. Ginny and Roger had many friends and were very generous to friends, family and charitable organizations. Ginny is predeceased by her three sisters, Frances, Vivian and Barbara, and her husband Roger.She leaves behind many friends and family, her nieces and nephews, Steven Krause of Jackson, TN , Deborah Mayer of Fort Worth, TX , Jacquelin & Robert Scharn of Hudson, NH , John Killam of Westwood, MA and Alan & Karen Hebb of Sanford, ME. She also leaves many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Ginny was much loved and will be greatly missed.A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, August 22 at 11:15 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
