Helen A. Cummings

Helen F. Cummings, 93, of Springvale, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Cummings was born in Alfred on January 14, 1912 to Ernest and Mercy Ridley Allen; she attended local schools. Helen moved to Springvale in the 1920's. She worked several jobs during her lifetime; she worked at Universal Shoe company, she was a clerk at the former Allen's Dry Goods Store in Springvale, and also at Grant's Department Store in the Late 1950's.Mrs. Cummings was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Clarence "Cad" Cummings, her daughter, Gloria Cummings and two brothers, Robert and Timothy Allen. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Douthart, of Panama City, Florida and several cousins, nieces and one nephew.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery.
