Barbara Crawford

Barbara J. Crawford, 67, of Sanford, Maine, passed away on July 31, 2010 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born on April 28, 1943 in Chelsea, MA, a daughter of the late Richard and Enid (Dawson) Renaud, of Renton, WA, and granddaughter of the late Alden B. Dawson who was a professor at Harvard University.She attended Buckingham Girls School in Cambridge and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1961. She then attended Northeastern University in Burlington, MA. For many years she resided Reading and North Andover before moving to Salem, NH in 1992. Barbara moved to Sanford in 2001.Barbara worked for many years for Computer Associates International, a software company based in Islandia, Long Island, NY. She worked in the Andover, MA office as a computer specialist, doing software design and technical support. At this company she traveled to customer sites and other offices in California and Italy. Prior to that she worked in the computer technical field for over 30 years. She owned Norfolk Paint and Wallpaper Inc. in Arlington, MA. She enjoyed traveling for pleasure and as well as for the various companies she worked for.After an early retirement due to illness, she enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening and being with her grandchildren.She is survived by one son, Robert A. Crawford of Sanford, grandchildren: Preston J, Paige A., and Aiden J., all of Sanford, brothers: Scott A. Renaud of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Douglas w. Renaud of Washington, and David Renaud of Germany.A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 14th at 11AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
