Marjorie Libbey Crandall

Marjorie Libbey Crandall, 84, of Springvale, formerly of North Shapleigh, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2011 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Marjorie was born in Sanford on July 3, 1926 to Clarence and Mary Langley. She attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1943. Soon after she married the love of her life, Robert Libbey Sr. They made their home in North Shapleigh for the next 47 years.Marjorie was employed for many years at the Sanford Laundry and at W.T. Grants in downtown Sanford. She was a lifetime member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was affectionately known as "Nana" to all who loved her. She had a way of making friends wherever she went and always had a smile for all. Marjorie will be remembered as a woman who truly loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Libbey Sr., her only sister, Eleanor Rollins and by her second husband, Harland Crandall. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Morrison and her husband Dennis of Sanford; her son, Robert Libbey Jr. and his wife Mary of East Waterboro; three grandchildren, Robin, Kerri and Andrew and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Emily, all of whom she dearly loved.Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
