Lillian J. Couture

Lillian J. Couture, 88, of Sanford, passed away on Monday January 7, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Rollinsford, NH on November 25, 1924, the 16th of 17 children to Joseph and Appoline (Parent) Dumont.For many years she was employed at the local textile mills.A devout catholic she was a member of the St. Therse of Lisieux Parish. Her prayer life was important to her and she prayed daily for peace. The prayer she recited daily was "O Lord, grant peace in our days, peace to our souls, peace to our families, peace to our country and peace among nations." She was a welcoming person and always looked forward to the company of her family.She was predeceased by her husband Lucien L. Couture and by two grandsons, Jason King and Heath Ricard.Survivors include her daughter Patricia Paquin and her husband Michael of No. Berwick, daughter Barbara Ricard and her husband Paul of Darby, MT, son Robert Couture and his wife Patricia of Lebanon, daughter Anita Merrow and her husband Steven of No. Berwick, Cindy Bachand and her husband Patrick of Lebanon, Donna Maria Fournier and her husband Albert Jr. of Sanford, Rosalie White and her partner Rod Marr of Manhattan, NY, Jacqueline Guillemette and her husband Roger of Sanford, her grandchildren Allison Paquin, Garret Ricard, Robbie Couture, Jr., Eric Lambert, Jennifer Lambert, Ryan Lucier, Katie Lucier, Michael Bachand, Nicholas White, Kimberly White, Kristyn Couture, Ryan Guillemette, Ethan Guillemette, Katelynn Fisher, her great grandchildren Cheyenne Couture, Riley Couture, Gabriel Drum, two sisters, Jeannette Girard and Simone Fortier, both of Sanford and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue, Sanford. Burial will be in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
