Jeannette Cote

Jeannette M. Cote, 97, of Sanford, died March 18 at home after a lengthy illness.She was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada on October 13, 1911, the daughter of Cleophas and Marie (Letendre) Prince. She attended schools in Canada and Fitchburg, MA, moving to Sanford in 1930.Mrs. Cote was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at St. Ignatius Church. She was a member of St. Jean de Baptiste and was a Cursillista.Her husband, Alphonse Cote, died in 1978. She was also predeceased by two sons, George Cote and Donald Cote.Survivors include 4 daughters, Pauline Shaw of Springvale, Rachelle Howard of Harbor City, CA, Helena Ferland of Sanford, Gloria Clayton and her husband Brian of San Antonio, TX, 8 sons, Andre Cote and his wife Juliette of Sanford, Rene Cote of Sanford, Robert Cote and his wife Estelle of Sanford, Roland Cote and his wife Doris of Sanford, Raymond Cote and his wife Sharon of Springvale, Roger Cote and his wife Denise of Sanford, Ernest Cote and his wife Sue of Shapleigh, Maurice Cote of Oro Valley, AZ, and over 150 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 6-8 PM and on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church on North Avenue in Sanford. Burial will be later in the spring in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to Dr. William Frank, Dr. John McGuckin and their staff for the wonderful and loving care shown to Mrs. Cote through the years.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Waban Projects, 5 Dunaway Drive, Sanford, ME 04073.
