Marie A. Cote

Marie A. Cote, 83 years old, of Lebanon, ME died Saturday September 9, 2006 at Varney Crossing in North Berwick, ME. Mrs. Cote was born on May 5, 1923 in Bromptonville, PQ, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Alderic and Marie Ann (Richer) Morissette. She was educated in Canada, and moved to Biddeford, ME in 1945 with her family. For over 25 years Mrs. Cote worked at Pepperell Manufacturing. She also worked at the Sutton Mills and The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport. Mrs. Cote was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. She enjoyed going on church trips with her friends, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook, but also took pleasure in going out to dinner with her friends. Predeceasing Mrs. Cote was her husband Leo J. Cote in 1976. Surviving is a daughter Jeanne Badger and her husband Jeffery of Lebanon, ME; two sons, Romeo Cote of Madison, ME, Roy Cote of Oakland, CA; three sisters, Victoria Lavigne of Saco, Marjola Girard of Biddeford, Florence Phaffenbichler of Hernando, FL; three brothers; Laurent Morissette of Saco, Jules "Andre" Morissette of Beckett, MA, and Denis Morissette of Sherbrooke, PQ. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jake and Joseph Badger both of Lebanon, ME, and Julian Cote of Oakland, CA. Visiting hours for Mrs. Cote will be held this Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford, ME. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday the 13th of September at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.
