Winfred L. Coreau

Winfred L. Coreau, 84, of Sanford, passed away on Friday September 1, 2006 at his home. He was born in Portage Lake on October 1, 1921 a son of Thomas and Gennie (Kreutzer) Coreau.Mr. Coreau served in the US Army during WWII in New Guinea and the Northern Solomons. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Service Star.A resident of Old Orchard Beach for many years, he had been residing in the Alfred-Sanford area for about 12 years. He was a member of the Old Orchard Beach American Legion Post # 57.He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine M. (Lovejoy) Coreau who passed away in 2004. He is survived by his children, Robert Coreau of Wells, Wayne Coreau of Saco, Donald Coreau of Sanford, Gary Coreau of Lyman, Anita Pease of Sanford and Loriann Godin of Sanford, four brothers, Harry Coreau, Teddy Coreau, Neddy Coreau and Walter Coreau, sisters, Anna Martin and Marguerite McMullen, 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.There will be no services. Entombment will be in Laurel Hill Cemeterey in Saco.
