Irene R. Emerson

Irene R. Emerson, 87, died Wednesday at. H.D. Goodall Hospital, Sanford following a long illness. She was born in Saugus, MA May 16, 1921 the daughter of Axiel & Anna ( Johnson) Erickson.. She was educated in Lynn, MA and was a 1939 graduate of Classical High School. While living in Lynn she was employed at Moran Fuel Oil Co. She later moved to Maine in 1968 where she has resided ever since as a homemaker. She loved to garden with flowers and vegetables. Irene is survived by her husband of 70 years Douglas of No. Berwick her daughter Sandra Vaccaro of Sanford, and her two sons, Thomas A. of Huntington Beach, CA and Wayne W. and his wife Judith of Wildwood FL, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main St., Springvale. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday July 5 at 2:00 PM at the N. Lebanon 2nd Baptist Church with Pastor Ronald German officiating.Condolences may be expressed at the Condolences tab at left.
