April 18, 2017

Timothy Francis Fogarty, 77, of Sanford, Maine, having endured a long, brave battle with cancer, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife at his home on April 18, 2017. Tim was born on February 5, 1940 to Thomas and Susan (Thomas) Fogarty in Rollinsford, NH. Tim grew up in South Berwick, as part of a hardworking Irish Catholic family that instilled in him both an amazing faith and work ethic. He graduated from South Berwick Academy in 1958 then went on to study Radio Broadcasting and Music Management at Northeastern School in Boston. His love of music and running of teen dance functions brought him to meet the "love of his life", Ann Lavallee. They dated for four years and were married on September 24, 1960. Together they raised two children. Tim worked a variety of jobs: from owning and operating his own garbage company to managing local music groups and dance venues to working for Metropolitan Life first as a salesman to Regional Marketing Director until his retirement at 58.Tim was not only a hardworking man, loving husband, adoring father, grandfather and great grandfather; he was a "diehard" New York Yankees fan from a young age even when those around him supported the Boston Red Sox. When it came to football; however, Tim stood true to his New England roots and was probably one of the New England Patriot's biggest fans. Super Bowl 51 was, to quote him... "the greatest birthday ever!", as he got to see his beloved team win their fifth trophy.Tim was devoted to family and friends and was loved by all. He was predeceased by his young sister, Sharon (early in life), his parents, his brother David and most recently by his beloved son, Michael. Those who survive and will miss him are his wife of 57 years, Ann Fogarty, his daughter, Kathy (Fogarty) Wadden and Bill, grandchildren, Devon Fogarty and Melissa, Meaghan (Fogarty) Foley and Adam, and Amanda Fogarty, great grandchildren, Tyson Fogarty, Gwenivere Fogarty, Jaden Foley and Joshua Fogarty, siblings, Jack and Heidi Fogarty, Patricia Daigle, Danny and Jackie Fogarty, Mary Francis Baker and sister in law, Loretta Fogarty along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. To honor Tim's request there will be no calling hours.
