Raymond G. Vilandry, 97, of Ogunquit, died in Sanford in the home that he was born in on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Raymond was born on December 4, 1924 to Daniel and Roseanna (Fournier) Vilandry in Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II attaining the rank or Sergeant. After completing his enlistment, he spent his working life living in New York City working in the insurance industry. After retiring split his time living between Ft. Lauderdale and Ogunquit until he moved to Ogunquit fulltime several years ago. He will be remembered as a kind and loving uncle and friend and will be dearly missed. Raymond was predeceased by his partner of over 40 years, Robert Bottomly and by his siblings, Cora Boisvert, Rita Turcotte and Roger Vilandry. Surviving are his nephew, Daniel Boisvert and his wife Bonnie. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6th at the St. Ignatius Cemetery located on Berwick Road in Sanford. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

  3. Our deepest condolences to Raymonds family. We knew Raymond for almost 60 years. Whenever we were together it was always a joy to be with him and Bob, then only Raymond. He called us around his 90th birthday to let us know he was still with us and expressed amazement that it was so. He loved his family very much and am happy to hear of the wonderful care at his end.
