Theresa F. Bachelder

Kansas- Theresa (Terry) F. Bachelder (nee Mancuso), 89, formerly of Portland, Maine and Royal Palm Beach, Florida, died on November 17, 2016, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Washington, D.C., on December 16,1926, the daughter of Frank and Olivia (Van Riswick) Mancuso. She worked for the Treasury Department after graduating from high school. She was the wife of Robert T. Bachelder, who died in 2001. They met while he was stationed in the US Navy in Washington, D.C. She relocated to Portland, Maine in 1946, at the time of their marriage. She worked in the medical field and retired in 1989 as the office manager of the Southern Maine Neurosurgical Associates. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bachelder; her son, Francis E. Bachelder; her grandson, Robert C. Bachelder; and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie J. Bachelder. She is survived by her children, Catherine A. Marston (Gary F. Kinsella), Robert T. Bachelder (Mary), and Theresa M. Turenne (James); fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Connick of Aquasco, MD and Antoinette Mancuso of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Bachelder of Weymouth, MA. The family would like to thank the staff at the Kansas Masonic Home and the Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, ME. A funeral service will be held at the Chapel on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 10AM. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Terrys name may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill, Suite 403, Wichita, KS 67206, or a charity of your choice.
