John Wayne Aceto, Sr.

April 12, 1954 ~ March 28, 2017
Portland- John Wayne Aceto, Sr., 62, passed away on March 28, 2017 surrounded by his family at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Born in Portland on April 12, 1954, he was the son of the late Louis J. Aceto, Sr. and Annette M. (Peverada) Aceto. John graduated from Deering High School in 1972. He was a hard worker all of his life which he demonstrated for over 25 years as owner and operator of John W. Aceto, where he specialized in property management, masonry, and remodeling. John had a generous heart, contributing to many local charities. His biggest joy was spending time with his family. John is survived and will be forever remembered by his children; John Aceto of Atlanta, GA, Terry Aceto of Houston, TX, Anthony Aceto of Las Vegas, NV, Heather Aceto Theriault and her husband Justin of Mechanic Falls, Angelina Aceto of Portland, and Gary Aceto of Fort Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Louis J. Aceto, Jr. and wife Jane of Portland; sister, Carol Aceto Locke and husband Greg of Portland as well as several nieces and nephews, and his beloved fianc Kim Zanchi of Portland. The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for the compassionate care they offered John in his last days. Johns family also wishes to thank Doug Cardente for the support and friendship he offered John throughout his life. Prayers will be recited at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland at 10:15am on Monday, April 3 followed by an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland.
