Westbrook - Wendi S. Leavitt, 48, passed away on October 27, 2021, with her family and friends by her side.
She was born December 5, 1972 in Caribou, Maine. Wendi graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1991. She received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the University of Maine.
Wendi is survived by her family, Mari-beth Leavitt, and Michael Leavitt, of Westbrook; her parents Greg and Patricia Voisine of Limestone; and brother Jonathan Voisine of Yarmouth.
Wendi's family and friends were blessed to receive her unconditional and unwavering love. Her passion for helping others was integral in her decision to become a speech pathologist. In that capacity, she helped countless people of various ages and abilities. From children, with special needs, to the elderly, trying to recover from a stroke or other setbacks. Many are indebted to her for helping them with one of life's most critical functions, the ability to effectively communicate.
Family and friends repeatedly witnessed her selflessness in her work and private life. She will be greatly missed.
There is solace in knowing that the indelible impact that Wendi had on so many, will far outlast the time we had with her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, November 5 at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of South Portland. To view Wendi's memorial page or to share an online condolence, please visit www.ConroyTullyWalker.com
Wendi was a kind, patient, sweet woman who lived for sharing in others joy’s . Wendi was a constant source of uplift and joy in her workplace. I will forever be grateful to Wendi for her nurturing nature and words of encouragement. I will miss her funny jokes, and smile, and her infectious laugh.

Wendi was one of the most kind, most enthusiastic, generous and funny souls I have ever known. Although she poured her her heart into her life’s chosen work, her love for her family was most obvious to EVERYONE who knew her. If you worked alongside Wendi, you knew the pride she took in, and the love she had, for her family, and especially her daughter Mari-Beth. There was little else that caused Wendi such joy, and she would animatedly share stories of a recent basketball , soccer or softball match…party plans, sleepover events, school activities, special family trips and get aways …and most recently, college applications, acceptance and selection. Wendi was an amazing colleague, friend and mom- taking care of, in some small (or large) manner, most everyone she knew. She will be missed greatly.

I met Wendi when she was enrolling Mari-Beth in her first year at Holy Cross school, and I was beginning my first year as kindergarten teacher there. Right then I could see how devoted she was to her daughter’s education. Over the years her support for the teachers and the school was unmatched. She attended every event and volunteered at every fundraiser I can remember. It has to be hard to lose your mother at your age, Mari-Beth, but she taught you well to be your own person and make your own way. You had already achieved those goals in kindergarten, so I know that your life will be brightened by the love and lessons your mother blessed you with.

Our condolences to all of Wendi’s family. She was a great neighbor. While I didn’t see her a lot I would occasionally run into her at Hannaford’s. We would always have a conversation about what was going on in the neighborhood.
