Gorham- Donna L. Zagrodnik, 70, of Forest Circle, died on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a long illness, her loving family was by her side. Donna was born on July 1, 1948 in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The family moved to many locations in Maine and Massachusetts including Hawaii, in 1961 the family moved to Cape Elizabeth were Donna graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in the class of 1967. Right out of high school, Donna went to work at Maine National Bank doing data entry, and then to Blue Line Trucking for a short time as an office clerk before going to work with Bob Erskine in Windham doing drafting. While living in Falmouth, Donna met the handsome young barber by the name of Bernard Zagrodnik who's barber shop was right next to her apartment. It was on June 22, 1975, in Falmouth, Maine that Barney and Donna were married and began their life together. Donna finished her working career as an office manager for Storey Brothers Construction, retiring in 2014 after a nineteen year career with the company. Donna always enjoyed keeping her hands busy and was always crafting, drawing, sewing, needle point, macrame, and cross stitch. She made her sister Terri's wedding gown and made sure that every member of her family had something she created with her own hands. Donna enjoyed spending time with family at the cottage at Hampton Beach, taking drives with Barney and had a strong love for animals especially dogs. Donna never wanted to bother others, was very giving, and had a very strong love for her nieces and nephews. Donna is survived by her husband, Bernard J. "Barney" Zagrodnik of Gorham; two sisters, Dianne and her husband Norman Cash of Gorham, Terri Bruneau of South Portland; an aunt, Mary LaValley of NH; 5 nieces and nephews, Robert and Carla Cash of Otisfield, Jennifer and Rob Herrick of Old Orchard Beach, Lindsay and Fran Page of NH, Anthony and Amy Bruneau of Gorham, Jacob and Matt Richardson-Bruneau of Boston; two great nieces Sierra Herrick of Old Orchard Beach, Penelope Bruneau of Gorham; One great nephew, Milo Page of New Hampshire. Visiting hours celebrating Donna's life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Private services and burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth.   1. I knew Donna and Bernie through online communicating. Bernie as it turned out was a cousin and we had great talks together. He always spoke highly of Donna and I am saddened that I did not know of her passing or the passing of Bernie until lately when I tried to reach them They were a great couple Richard Zagrodnik

  2. Donna was a wonderful person and was so kind to everyone. She was a very talented person. She showed me how to do many crafts and we love sharing time together with her family. My heart is sad for her passing but I know now that she is not suffering any more. My love goes to her family and she was a very dear friend.
