Scarborough, ME - Bonnie Laura (Walker) Bouchard, 75, passed away at her home on November 21, 2024. Bonnie was born on October 20, 1949, in Plattsburgh, NY, daughter of the late George and Helen (Doty) Walker. Bonnie had many fond childhood memories by the ocean, spending family summer vacations at Cape Cod. She graduated from Keeseville Central High School, then CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. After graduation she moved to Hartford, CT and worked as a Hematology Lab Technician for the Red Cross. Soon after she began her career, fate brought her and Dan together one frosty February morning when her car was blocking his car as he was ready to leave for work. Dan, being a tenant in the same building as her, knocked on her door to ask if she could move her car. Five months later they got married and spent 52 years building their beautiful life together. Bonnie’s love of the ocean and desire to be closer to Dan’s family led them to move to Scarborough, Maine in 1980 where they raised their four kids. She adored her children and grandchildren. Bonnie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and was a true inspirational role model to them. Bonnie lived her life with the utmost love, compassion, generosity and kindness to her family, friends and community. Her warmth, gentle nature and beautiful smile will be remembered by all who were lucky to have known her. Among her many virtues, she was a natural caregiver, and she continually gave everything she could to caring for many people throughout her life. Bonnie loved animals, being out in nature, going to the beach, reading books, and spending quality time with friends and family around a good meal. She loved perfecting her Michigan sauce recipe and making pork pies for each of her kids on Christmas Eve. Some of Bonnie’s most cherished memories are times spent with family at Higgins Beach, holidays spent in Plattsburgh with her mother, aunts and uncles, and the laughter she shared with her sisters and brother in Florida. Bonnie has said that the best advice she had received was from a “Royal Savage Cookbook” signed by a former employer to a young Bonnie as she was leaving for Lab school in 1968; “Be happy with what you have and are, be generous with both, and you won’t have to hunt for happiness”. Bonnie was predeceased by her sister, Suzanne Nelson, and brother, Timothy Walker. She is survived by her husband Daniel Bouchard; children, Tobie and her husband Elijah Colgan, Jesse and his wife Mindy Bouchard, Katherine "Kate" and her husband Travis Lauritsen, and Helen Bouchard and her partner Ulan Moore; grandchildren, Cole Pringle, Grace and Skai Colgan, Maksim "Max" Kladov, Makayla, Meg, Rose Lauritsen; and sister, Mary Neyenhouse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on December 5, 2024, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074. Bonnie's Mass of Christan Burial will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/conroytullywalker; the livestream will begin at 9:45am.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We lived in the same neighborhood as Bonnie in Scarborough. Bonnie was
a loving and caring person. Bonnie looked after our son Stephen who just adored her.
    Alison, Burt and Stephen Bridges

  2. I have so many memories of Bonnie. Our families spent a lot of time together when the kids were young. We spent a lot of Mother’s Days together. One of my favorite memory is when she told me she was pregnant with Helen. We went through all emotions (crying, laughing, hugging).

  3. 50 yrs of friendship is a blessing many cannot claim. But I/we can. And we have been and continue to be blessed because of our friendship. Rest in peace sweet Lady. You will be missed 🙏😢

  4. Bonnie is my daughter’s mother in law. When we moved to Windham from Presque Isle, she generously invited us to Thanksgiving at her home with her family. It was lovely and delicious. It is a Thanksgiving I will always treasure. Sending my love to you all❤️

  5. Bonnie was vibrant, outgoing, helpful, and friendly. I didn’t see her often, but I will miss her very much. 💜

  6. Bonnie and I were childhood friends. We lived in the same neighborhood. Bonnie was a great friend who got along with everyone.

  7. Bonnie and Dan visited me in Florida. I felt so happy to have them come see me while on one of their many adventures. They may have been the most loving and kind couple I’ve ever known.

  8. With a heavy heart, I extend my deepest sympathy to all of Bonnie’s family and friends. To know Bonnie was to love her. She truly was one of those genuine people.

  9. Bonnie was kind and gentle and a keen listener. I felt that Bonnie connected deeply with people and to know her was to love her.

  10. Let the memory of Bonnie live on in all the people she touched for she was a true example of a great human❣️

  11. There are no words my dear sweet friend. I loved how you understood my son the first time you met him. You connected with his somewhat bashful self thru your cooking skills. As days turned to years and his love for Tobie became apparent, your arms and your heart was always loving and pure. Love and miss you forever.

  12. Bonnie was directionally challenged(as was I) one day we looked south west and sent prayers to a dear friend of mine from the Maine Colgan deck. Dan notified us we were facing north and west. What???

  13. Dan, & family, I am so sorry for your loss. Since I am back working at SMCC, I get to see when the luncheons are back on at Culinary Arts. First person I reached out to was Bonnie. She really enjoyed those luncheons. Special thoughts to you all. A neighbor Shirley Johnson
