Mary Elizabeth Blair

Cape Elizabeth- Mary Elizabeth Blair, 68, died peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Mary was born in Portland, Maine on September 12, 1953 the daughter of the late Robert C. and Agatha M. (Devlin) Blair. She attended local schools graduating from South Portland High School in the class of 1971. She earned her degree in Nursing from the School of Nursing in Lewiston, Maine in 1975. She worked at Maine Medical Center, Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick and Mercy Hospital for several years before going to work in the medical department of UNUM. She retired in 2005 after more than a thirty-year career in nursing. Mary attended the Royal Ridge Church of God and in later years, the South Portland Church of the Nazarene. In her spare time Mary enjoyed playing softball, going to camp in New Hampshire, reading medical journals and mystery novels. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan. She will long be remembered as warm, quick witted, fun loving and a friend to many. She was always willing to help others in any way she could, always spreading her bouquet of sunshine. Mary is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Blair of South Portland, and twin sister, Barbara Nguyen and her husband Hien of KS; a brother, Robert Blair of NM; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jeanne Gaboriault of South Portland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11am at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, Maine.
