Paula S Barber

Hiram- Paula S. Barber, 85, of King Street died peacefully at her home on Friday, October 13, 2017. She was born in Brunswick, Maine on February 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Paul Viney Jr. and Susan Vojtko Viney. She attended local schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in the class of 1950. She attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1953 with her nursing degree. On July 31, 1954, she married John Ernest Barber. They were married for forty nine years before John's death in 2003. Together Paula and John owned and operated the Salmon Falls Restaurant, Motel and Golf Club in Hollis along with their daughter Susan and son in law Stephen from 1982 to 2015. Mrs. B ran the motel efficiently and graciously for more than twenty years. Paula is survived by a brother, Paul Viney; three daughters, Susan Barber Bell, Patricia Barber, and Vanessa Michelson; seven grandchildren, Melissa Bell, Laura Bell, John Gaylord, Tyler Gaylord, Rose Michelson, Cameron Michelson, and Samantha Michelson.
