Portland- Lolita DeLemos Loyola, 83, of Washington Ave. died peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Falmouth by the Sea. Lolita was born in Manila, Philippines on March 28, 1939 the daughter of the late Julian and Devina (Esperancila) DeLemos. She was educated in local schools there and earned her Associates Degree in Business. Lolita spent most of her life, raising her family in the Philippines. In February of 2002 she moved to the United States and made her home in Portland, ME. She worked weekends at the Cookie Jar in Cape Elizabeth and also at McDonalds. During the week she took care of her granddaughter whom she loved so very much. In her spare time she loved to go shopping, she enjoyed sewing and made school uniforms and many clothes for her daughters as they were growing up. She loved to spend time in her gardens, cooking and watching her special shows on Philippine television. She also had a very adventurous spirit and loved to travel, it was an excuse to put on a nice dress, and a good pair of shoes. She was also lifelong communicant of the Catholic Church. Lolita was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Rufino Abad Loyola in 2004; a sister, Loretta Masinsin; two brothers, Julian DeLemos Jr. and Guillermo DeLemos. She is survived by her two daughters, Rosalie Loyola of Portland and Ruby and her husband Ramon Anastacio of Portland; a granddaughter, Rose Christine Anastacio of Portland; four sisters, Lydia Aquino of CA, Leticia Lauz of Philippines, Baby Palicpic of Philippines, and Lilia Asuncion of Philippines. Visiting hours celebrating Lolita's life will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, ME.
